Time Strategies: This Semester and On
Time management is a key that unlocks every door in out life. Since time will go on no matter what we must effectively use it. No amount of money can give you more time than someone before you. In order to effectively use your time a good way is through checklists. Lauren Marchese, in her article The Psychology of Checklists, shows the power of the checklist. Since our minds react positively to dopamine then there must be an effective way to get it when working. Checklists make our brain think we are doing a lot of work so it helps us stay on top of things. It always feels nice to cross things off the list.
Based on my old classes my biggest challenges will be starting on assignments. I am not in too many hard classes this semester, but there is a lot to still do in all my classes. Keeping a planner helps a lot in staying on top of assignments; the only thing to watch out for is procrastinating because things seems so far away. A planner will help you feel not too busy. Tim Grahl, in his article The Myth of Being Too Busy, gives us some tips for keeping up with all the crazy assignments we have. Planning ahead is one of the most important things. You can have a lot of assignments to do, but as long as you dedicate time for them and don't waste away on your phone you can easily get all you want done accomplished.
